I had to change my Cox acct settings. Now I cannot view my previous emails. I can only view new ones. How can I see the old emails?

I had to change my Cox account server settings. When I did, I could no longer view my old emails. Now I get new emails, but cannot see the ones I received prior to making the required server settings. How can I find and view my old emails? Please and thank you. Ray
