unexpected error with sync when trying to sign in

Hi,

I've recently formatted my windows and tried to sign into firefox sync where all my bookmarks are saved and I keep encountering the "unexpected error" message. I've tried signing in on my phone and still get the same problem - I've also tried all the troubleshooting that was suggested in the forums and haven't found anything. I then tried to reset my password or even create a new account and I still get the same error.

The cloud service is also up and working.
