I cannot log on toget my emails, keeps asking for my password, given and still cannot access my emails

the sign comes up to retry, cancel or put in my password. cannot get on. I had received a notice from google this am that someone tried to get into my google account and thus I changed my password. So I changed that, does that reflect and cause problems for my mozella thunderbird email? thanks.
