I have been using Thunderbird for a year with no problems until now. It seemed to start right after I downloaded a Thunderbird update. The server and port settings seem right. I do not know what else to check. Should I re-enter my account password?

Error message as follows when trying to send message: "Message could not be sent using SMTP server for an unknown reason. Please verify that your SMTP server setting are correct." I have done this a number of times. Settings seem correct and I keep getting this message. Any ideas would be most welcome!!

Yet I keep getting this error message. Any ideas would be most welcome!!!

Often these sorts of error messages following an update have their origin in an anti virus firewall. Check your anti virus and make sure Thunderbird has full access and that it is not set to automatic.
