Can I "clear my cache" without losing passwords in Firefox memory, and if I can, HOW (in "browsers for dummies" terms, please)?
When I've had trouble signing-in to a commercial website, it often says, "Clear your cache." But in Firefox settings, it looks like clearing it will cause my frequently-used passwords to disappear. Am I reading that correctly? If it's true, how can I clear my cache without losing "remembered" passwords and other log-in information?
I'm not very tech-savvy, so need instructions in very plain, "for dummies" English. Thank you for any help.

djmichaels8, clearing cookies might cause some sites to stop recognising you as a logged in user, and if that happens then they may ask you to log back in to them.
If you clear all cookies then it is likely that all sites will ask you to sign backin.
If you clear cookies for just a specific site then it is likely that just that site will ask. And possibly other specific sites that rely on the first site's login process (for example, if you clear your Google cookies then you may well find that not only do you need to sign back into Google, but also Youtube and any other site with which you sign in with your Google account).
Cache is different than cookies.
Clearing cache shouldn't affect whether you remain logged in to a site (or at least I have never heard of a site that uses a browser's temporary cache to determine user login status).
However, clearing either cookies or cache will not remove any passwords that are saved in the Firefox password manager.
One way to remove cookies and cache for just a specific site is to find an entry for that site in history, then right-click it and select "Forget About This Site" (but read the notice in the dialogue box before proceeding). This can sometimes help with problematic sites.
Or if you decide that you want to clear all Firefox cookies and cache, then one way is to go to the history menu and select "Clear Recent History", making sure that cookies and cache are ticked, and that the time range is set to "Everything". Also ensure that any items that you do not want removed, such as browsing or form history etc, are unticked.

I also wonder if you are clearing your Cookies also and not just the Cache.

Thank you for your help. I cleared my cache and cookies, but the link to my phone carrier (from their email) still doesn't work. They say it's not them, so I guess I'll just have to give up. (It's not a life-and-death or employment issue; just a good deal on something I need.) Anyway, thanks for your advice and time.
