Using Foxmail to receive emails sent by TB, the file name of the attachment can only display 17 characters

Using Foxmail to receive emails sent by TB, the file name of the attachment can only display 17 characters When I use TB installed on Linuxmint to send emails to my colleagues, Foxmail users always cannot display the file names of attachments properly, including those using Foxmail on MacBook. But they were able to correctly display the file names of attachments using the pre installed email client on Mac. I tried to set "mail. strictly_mime. arm_folding" to 0 or 1, but it didn't have much effect May I ask what I should do?

So what you are saying is foxmail crops file names at 127 characters. I do not see what that has to do with Thunderbird.

Hello, Mr Matt I installed Thunderbird on Linuxmint, and my colleagues use Foxmail on Windows and macbook, some of which are Microsoft Outlook. When I send them emails with attachments (when the file name of the attachment contains Chinese characters), they always complain to me that the attachments in the email do not have an extension, and the file name can only display the first part of the characters. Later, colleagues using Mac were able to receive these emails normally using the pre installed email application on Mac. I speculate it may be a compatibility issue between Thunderbird and Outlook or Foxmail. I want to know what I should do?

Would it be possible for you to remove the Chinese characters and name the attachments shorter for compatibility with your recipients? That would be my approach.

Yes, I think this is feasible. But in reality, there may be some issues because my colleagues are all Chinese, and using only English may confuse them. Thank you for your help. I think I need to look for some other solutions
