junk folder duplicating messages
My junk email folder has over 4 million messages. There are hundreds of the same message from the same time.
I came across this post from a while ago. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1169324#answer-991184
How do I find the Junk and Junk.msi files so I can delete them?
Chosen solution
I can't right click the folder and empty junk because it will crash. It's too many emails. I was able to delete the folder though, and everything seems to be working ok now. I clicked the three bars/hamburger menu, and somehow got to the "Troubleshooting Information" page. Then I clicked the profile folder. In the mail subfolder, I was able to find and delete the junk mail file that was, i think, tens of gigabytes. I also deleted any other files that were 'junk' just in case they would help re-populate the folder. I also repaired the junk folder, not sure if that did anything, or it was just deleting the file, but it's ok now

btw, when I log into my email online, these messages are not there. At least not the duplicates in this massive quantity.
This is making my thunderbird extremely slow and difficult to use. Anyone know how I can clear the junk folder?
Can anyone please help? I hope someone sees this! :)
Is this a POP or IMAP account?
Right click the junk folder, select Empty Junk.

Well, the problem returned. Here is a screenshot. It has all of these duplicate emails from February 1st, 2050! EDIT: Nevermind, it was my trash folder. I'll leave the screenshot here though. Those were what the junk looked like
