Thunderbird giving interrupted connection messages, all my browsers work, tracert shows 2 hops that fail - how to reroute or anyway have thunderbird retry? The webhost says no connection completed. Already on the phone with Internet provider and my webmail host for 5 hours.

Please help. Just started at 9 PM - don't know if there was a stealth update that has a bug.

have you tried restarting your computer (turn in off for a few minutes and then turn it on again. That fixes so many computing issues is is a default first thing to try.

Computer, router, it's between my ip and the webhosting's ip. Only Thunderbird seems to not retry a different route. The exception log is filled with some multiples of these errors:

[Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80520001 (NS_ERROR_FILE_UNRECOGNIZED_PATH) [nsIXPCComponents_Utils.readUTF8URI]" nsresult: "0x80520001 (NS_ERROR_FILE_UNRECOGNIZED_PATH)" location: "JS frame :: resource://gre/modules/L10nRegistry.jsm :: L10nRegistry.loadSync :: line 658" data: no]

What is the exact error message?

What is your anti-virus software?

On the Thunderbird "connection interrupted" or "timeout due to lost connection" - see the exception above in the logs. I have avast free and M$oft firewalls.

Tracert shows * * * on the 6th hop and it always seems to route through the same ip's. Why not a retry logic or a reroute logic? Gmail works fine on the same set up, as do Firefox/Chrome/Adobe products

Why would a localization part of the code throw an exception without a retry logic? Seems like a bug. Just appeared as of Friday 9 pm PDT. No emails have come through since.

Try to start Windows 10 in safe mode with networking enabled.

Does the problem go away?
