I upgraded Firefox and now get unwanted pop ups and redirects that was not an issue before.
The pop ups were not on the old system and seem to attache to whatever site I open, openning multiple sites. I may have to stop usingFfirefox if this is not fixed.

hello jgibbs99, you might got tricked by a malicious website into downloading a fake update - a genuine firefox update will never contain those kind of nuisances you're describing! in addition updates are handled internally by firefox so if you are prompted to download and execute a .exe file to update firefox it will be fake (you can manually check for updates within firefox by going to firefox > help > about firefox).
please try these steps:
- reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
- afterwards go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there (sort the installed programs for their install date to see what got installed recently).
- finally, run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.
