How can I remove Recent History links from Bookmarks? It's clutter for me. I don't want to remove history but I don't want to see it in Bookmarks.
I don't want to see the Recent History when I click on the Bookmarks Icon. I'm trying to remove it and am not successful. BTW, I'm using an HP laptop, Windows 10.
I did a search and found this posting: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1242594
However, when I tried to follow the directions to "At the top of the sidebar, click the large History heading and a list should drop down that lets you switch the contents of the sidebar. If you change it to Bookmarks, I've got my fingers crossed that Firefox will remember that going forward so you don't have to change it every time. "
I could not find anything that let me change the contents of the sidebar.
Here is a screenshot. Well forget the screenshot because it is only 229 KB and is taking forever to upload.
I'm hoping someone can show me what to do with screenshots along the way because I may not be in the right "sidebar." It's very frustrating and actually it's not for me but for my husband who is super sensitive to clutter and wants just the basics.

Sorry, sometimes the screenshot won't attach to the original question for some reason, but you should be able to attach it to a reply:

If you are using the Library button -- -- that is meant to combine all the different kinds of data from bookmarks, to downloads, to history. I don't think there is any built-in way to suppress the "Highlights" there.
Instead, if you like, you could right-click > Remove that button and instead use the Bookmarks-specific button: . To add that button, either:
(A) Use the Customize panel (Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars) to drag the icon to the desired spot on the toolbar
(B) Use the method from Bookmarks in Firefox - section entitled: How do I add the Bookmarks Menu button to the toolbar?
- Click the "Library" button
- Click "Bookmarks"
- Click "Bookmarking Tools"
- Click "Add Bookmarks Menu to Toolbar"
Is that helpful?

Thank you! That was a helpful workaround. It lets hubby still get to his bookmarks easily without the extra distraction of seeing "Recent Highlights."
I've posted 2 screenshots to help anyone else with this problem. The first one shows the Library icon which has Bookmarks and Recent Highlights. We removed the Library button and the second screenshot shows the Bookmarks button that I added in its place.
