Blank New Tab and about:... pages not working

more options

Hi! For some stupid reason, I tried modifying the "activity-stream@mozilla.org" file in Firefox's directory (I was trying to change the color of new tabs), but since it didn't work, I tried modying it back to normal- but now, the new tabs page is blank.

I've tried a few things, like opening about:newtab / about:home (they both don't load), or changing the preferences back and forth, but nothing solved the problem.

Can anyone help me, please? Thank you!

Hi whateverthisis, if you think the Activity Stream extension might be damaged, you can re-run the Firefox installer to restore the original one. I don't know of a smaller download for it.

Although an in-place upgrade is usually seamless, you could make a backup "just in case": Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles

The problem's fixed now; I made a backup and reinstalled Firefox (which fixed the blank pages and the about: things).

Thanks to both of you!
