Connection is not secure

more options

When I was updating my email on EBay and went to retrieve the email necessary to verify the new address, I got the "Your Connection is not secure" error message when I clicked on both the direct link as well as the URL link from that email. I talked to EBay techies for 1 1/3 hours and eventually they sent me to my Norton. I spoke with techies at Norton for just over 2 hours and they have now sent me to Mozilla Firefox saying that the issue is with the internet connection. I have unplugged the modem, turned my computer off and on, and tried to get to EBay from my favorites as well as direct input of their URL. EBay again, and they say that the techies have examined and tested their stuff, What should I do now? And if it is to contact someone besides Mozilla, please tell me what to say.

Have you tried using a different browser such as Edge to submit the confirmation? You may need to right-click the link and Copy Link Location or Copy Shortcut in order to paste it into the address bar of the other browser.

What is the site that Firefox considers not to give you a secure connection? I'm assuming it's not the main address ( https://www.ebay.com/ ) but some other server?

Note: If you paste the URL, leave off the detailed parameters after the ? because that may connect the link to your account.

The site is ebay.com, but the URL changes to a totally different site when I click on the links. It is the URL that appears to have hijacked EBAY.com that is insecure. EBay has no idea why it is happening, and neither does my Norton or Mozilla.

I'm not pasting the URL at all. Here's what is happening: When Ebay wants to confirm a new email address I am adding to my account, it sends an email to me. It is the links back to ebay that come in with the unknown, not secure URL. If I go to the URL itself, it brings up the insecure Network error.

Again, since asking here I have talked for a total of several hours to ebay, norton and mozilla.

This is crazy. The message to my email comes from ebay at this URL: https://scgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ChangeEmail&guest=1

The URL that comes up when I click back to ebay is: https://scgi.earthlink.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ChangeEmailSuccess&confirmcode=XDdX7&ssPageName=ADME:R:RC:US:1134

scher2000,

No one can figure out why Earthlink is in there. But then no one can figure out anything about this.

Remember i've had Ebay, Norton and Mozilla techs look at it (and now Google), and they are all stumped. They assure me no bad stuff has popped into my computer,

Have you any suggestions for me? The issue is not resolved and is still going on.
