Is there an option like "refresh only the page I'm currently on"?

I'm a trader and have multiple exchanges open at the same time. They are refreshing like crazy. I'm happened to work on the much weaker machine and this nonstop refreshing is draining life powers of my weak lappy. I'm pretty sure there was the option like that in Mozila before (or am I crazy?). But I can't find it now somehow :'( Can anyone help?

If pages are refreshing automatically more often then they should then you need to check your extensions. You can also check the setting of your user account of that website to see if there is a refresh setting.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and remove the cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"Clear the cache":

  • Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> Network -> Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove the cookies" from websites that cause problems.

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy -> "Use custom settings for history" -> Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Thanks a lot, you encouraged me to actually look if there is a refresh setting on my exchange sites. And it was there lol. I made it refreshing 5 times slower and now I'm enjoying my life once again!
