Firefox is not printing web pages properly. I have tried to change the printer set up, but the print icon is not there in the Firefox Menu.

I can print the web reports in proper format from Windows Internet Explorer, but not from Firefox. The margins, font and line spacing are all too large when printing from Firefox. I tried to fix this by using the Firefox Menu, But the print icon has disappeared. Any suggestions?

The printer icon is missing. Do I need to delete and download Firefox?

No, but you could use the "Restore Defaults" button on the Customize screen. This article will get you to the general area, then look at the bottom of the tab: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars. That usually will put the Print icon (which calls up Print Preview) back on the application menu.

Try : http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problems_printing_web_pages & https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-printing-problems-firefox

This could be a printer specific issue. So please post your make/model of printer if return. Yes there are other ways but need above first please.

Is the printer icon in the menu with 3 lines far right top ?

You have some control over the margins from the Page Setup dialog. You can access that using either:

  • the Page Setup button on the toolbar in Print Preview
  • the File menu (if you don't normally display the classic menu bar, tap the Alt key or the F10 function key to activate the menu bar temporarily)

But... is it a normal web page or a PDF? If it's a PDF displayed in Firefox's built-in viewer, there should be a download button (arrow pointing down) on the viewer's toolbar so you can open the PDF in your preferred stand-alone PDF reader application. That probably will give you better results than the built-in viewer.

This solved the icon problem and I can now print the 6 pages it takes in I.E. using just 11 pages in Firefox instead of 21. Not perfect but better. The font and line spacing are still a bit large, but the margins are tighter and the right margin is no longer cut off. Thanks
