Hi davtay!

Type in about:config

Type in security.tls.version.max replace the "1" with a "3"

Now TLS 1.2 should work.

Let me know if that helped!

Firefox 54 supports TLS 1.2 and even 1.3

Enter about:config in the URL bar and check if

  • security.tls.version.max = 3 or 4
  • security.tls.version.min = 1

This is the test: https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/viewMyClient.html

JoKers and TyDraniu thank you both for replying. I went to about:config and

security.tls.version.max the number was 2. I replaced it with a 3. This appears to have fixed the problem. Thank you both very much.

Hey guys, while that worked like a charm, when I close the browser and reopen, the number under security.tls.version.max resets to two. Is there a way to make the change permanent, or will I have to change this everytime I log into my bank?

Is this happening with all your addons disabled?

You can check if you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time Firefox starts. The user.js file will only be present if you or other software has created this file and normally won't be present.

You can check its content with a text editor (right-click: "Open with"; do not double-click). The user.js file is read each time Firefox is started and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can delete the user.js file if you didn't create this file yourself.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
