Hi. Ever since I got win 10 (I think it is win 10 related, but not sure) some pages on the internet looks like this (especially online stores as you can see from the image 1 - which is supposed to be a dram glass. So if I want to buy a glass in an online store or a white dress I will not be able to view them. White or clear objects are not possible to view! How do I change this?

Hello,

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:

  • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click Help Help-29 and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
  • On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem. Thank you!

I followed your suggestions plus did everything mentioned on this page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems#w_turn-off-hardware-acceleration - but no matter what (safe-mode, turned off acceleration, updated driver etc etc) and I can still not view the dram glass or white dresses in online stores. See in this link so you get what I mean: https://www.lagerhaus.no/kjokken-servering/glass-porselen/glas/snapsglass-fiore and this dress: https://www.zalando.no/mbym-kjole-stardust-mb121c054-a11.html < all I see there is a white page and on the next image a floating head :/

If you load the glass and dress images stand-alone in a tab, do they look equally odd, or only in the context of the page?

Dress: https://mosaic01.ztat.net/vgs/media/pdp-gallery/MB/12/1C/05/4A/11/MB121C054-A11@12.jpg

I find the glass hard to see, but the dress is more distinct.

Yes, equally odd when I load the images in a stand-alone tab. I have sent the same concern to the customer services on both those (allthough I have the same problem on every online shop I visit) web sites so I will wait till I hear from them what they say. Note: I did not have this issue on my old computer. This occured when I bought this new computer.

Is this problem limited to Firefox or do you notice it in other browsers as well? Just wondering if there might be a monitor issue where the brightness and contrast are conspiring to wash out the grays.

No, same issue on every browser I visit. Oh, might have to try to adjust the contrast on my monitor! Let me try that and then get back at you. Thanks for the patience with this old woman ^^

Ok, here's what I did: I adjusted my monitor and changed to sRGB mode and took Splendid demo mode 'On' (seemed to be a litle better for my eyes) - but it didn't help for my problem. I give up! :/
