Not malware. Superantispyware did not find it. Even in safe mode.
There are some PUPs out there that will do exactly what you are describing. I had one last year that did the same thing. Superantispyware is really not all that good at catching those types of PUPS and most antispyware and antivirus programs will miss them because they are bundled in with reputable programs that are downloaded or website advertisements. Download and install the free Malwarebytes https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/ and do a complete scan of your computer. This does not have to be done in Safe Mode at all. Make sure your settings are like the screenshots below. I run my Malwarebytes on a weekly basis and there are times that I do catch PUPS. CNET is notorious for giving these little bugs to a computer even if you just go there to read an article so now I stay away from it. Good luck.

Modified
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

I did what you said. Malwarebytes found nearly 80 PUPS in user files and registry. Thanks much.
