As a Firefox user for many years, I find it troubling that such a great product has become debased with the new "FoxYeah" campaign. I was moved to complain about what I see on my screen because I care about the children in my life and the culture around us. I hope that Mozilla will listen to my concern and put this campaign behind them because it does not reflect the great product that Firefox is.

Sincerely,

Daniel Broniatowski

Thank you for taking the time to reach out. We are aware of the negative connotation. We aimed to appropriate the phrase and put a much more positive spin on it. In coming to the decision, we considered that there are many examples of wholesome colloquialisms that have been adopted to replace negative ones. Additionally, we’ve striven to frame the content and campaign itself positively. The shareable content is designed to be fun and quirky to further distance FoxYeah from the negative expression.

We realize that marketing is highly subjective. Our intention is not to offend our users, but try new things that will help Firefox get noticed. FoxYeah is intended as a memorable creative device to do this.

We appreciate your sharing your thoughts and your support to-date.
