According to this article....

http://www.zdnet.com/when-will-microsoft-pull-the-plug-on-your-version-of-windows-or-office-7000013560/

....Microsoft will stop all support for WinXP 4/8/2014.

Anyone know how this will effect Firefox?

I will NOT ever update to the more hoggish, eye-candy, versions of Windows that require me to manually install over 100 apps.

For the time being, so long as you have all service packs on Windows xp and keep it up to date until there are no more updates, there are no plans to drop support for XP. However, that time will eventually come, so you should begin to either look into updating Windows, or look at alternative OS's (Mac, Linux) as Windows xp will cease to be a secure OS for internet usage after Microsoft drops support

As to changing OS, for my desktop system NO. I have 100+ apps, mostly games, and few have versions for other OS.

Note I do have a Ubuntu (Linux) Laptop. IMHO Linux IS the better OS.
