Firefox 4 was working great earlier however now i dont know whats happened. It will not load my home page, when i type a URL i cant hit enter, will not load any of my addons/extensions. It started when i went to gmail and it was defaulting to HTML. I cant do nothing in firefox.

can you please try the following Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox

Try a cold boot. So shutdown the PC completely, power off and remove the power cord from the back of the machine.

Wait about 2 mins before you power on again. This will flush the system memory. Then try again.

I tried the cold boot but no luck on that.

I tried safemode and it works ok. However after starting it back on reg mode it still will not let me type a url, use search engine (says i have none installed, but works fine in safemode), and load addons.

Reinstalled FF 3.6 and its working fine.

Make sure you keep an eye on the Help | Check For Updates menu. The latest version is 3.6.16 downloadable from Firefox: Older Versions but it may be updated from time to time. You always get the choice of whether you want to update to v4.0 or not, so don't be afraid of checking.
