Mozilla keeps hanging up giving me the "not responding" message every few minutes.

I have Windows 7 and am using Mozilla 3.6.8. When I am using Mozilla--checking mail or browsing--the program keeps locking up and I have to wait until the system clears. If I keep trying to force an action after it locks up, I get a "not responding" message. Then I have to wait until the message disappears or the mouse can switch to a hand or whatever is appropriate to it's location on the window. This can happen several times during a session.

How about a solution to this problem Firefox, or don't you have one?

lennynyr it's 5 months old & since then, there's been a new version released, 4.x

You could try disabling some of your plug-ins and third party toolbars and see what happens.

You could start by Googling "Ask toolbar", a common source of problems.

You could work your way through this(Safe Mode, Problematic extensions etc) -

I presume that you've updated to at least Fx3.6.17 - earlier versions have security risks - and updated your plug-ins -
