Can't highlight, delete or type over text added to a text field

On all 5 of our Macs using Firefox 3.6.12, OS 10.4.11 we can't highlight, delete or type over text that we just typed into a text field on web sites. Also, copy and paste doesn't work. In some cases, after several minutes, those abilities will work temporarily but then will stop again. This is wasting a lot of our time so we're switching to Safari until we upgrade to the new OS, then will use Chrome. Firefox used to be great but not anymore.

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
