Gmail account not downloading mail regularly.

M

I have now the version 158.01 (64-bit) with Windows 11. My Gmail account only dowloads email like once a day. The server settings are: -Check for new messages at startup -Check for new messages every 10 minutes This started a few days ago, while I had the version 158.00. I have many accounts on Thunderbird, and re-installing all of them would be time consuming. Any suggestion?

Since this started after the Thunderbird update, it may be worth checking whether the issue is related to the account’s connection or synchronization settings. Testing the Gmail account’s connection status could help narrow down the cause without having to reinstall all your accounts.

In your Account Settings, I'd check the 'Allow immediate server notifications when new messages arrive' option, and uncheck the 'Check for new messages every 10 minutes' option.

Thank you very much for the advice. I will review the settings and see if this helps.

Unfortunately that does not seem the issue. I unchecked it, but it still does not download the mail.

As stated above, you'll also have to turn on 'Allow immediate server notifications'.

Hello. Yes, that was checked already and I left it like that.

My Gmail account only dowloads email like once a day.

Presumably you have other problems not related to your Thunderbird settings. Do you get any error messages? Is there anything related in the Error Console (Ctrl-Shift-J)? Is your Internet connection working for other apps than Thunderbird? What is your anti-virus software?

Hello. Thank you very much for your post.

In the Error console, I find this error message that may be related: mailnews.oauth: Error response from the authorization server: invalid_grant; Bad Request OAuth2.sys.mjs:472:15

Definitely no other issue with the internet connection for other apps.

As AVS, I use Windows Security, but App & Browser control is set to off.
