I just want to use firefox as my default browser.
I just want to select the firefox icon amd go to the forefox browser so I can search. I am ditching Google as my main browser.

Firefox is a web browser and not a search engine site. The Google you are seeing in Firefox is likely as a search engine. You can change or add another search engine is Firefox to use as explained in the KB article link above.
