Video playback hangs when connecting to Android Auto

From time to time, when while playing YouTube Premium videos in Firefox on my Android Galaxy S26 (same was on S24 before for years) I connect the phone to Android Auto of my Ford Mustang 2024 with USB cable, the playback stops. After that I still can browse the web, but can not play any video until I twice in a row kill and restart the Firefox (loosing all private pages, etc). Disconnect/reconnect of the cable does not help. There are no any errors reported when it happen. It looks as some connectivity or YouTube problem, except the moment I restart Firefox twice everything goes back to normal. Since during that connection the audio is getting redirected to the car speakers, I suspect the problem may be audio-related, but I have no specific evidences. Also since car's multimedia is usually still booting at the time, it takes Android Auto several seconds to start, and I guess some random delays and/or transient errors might happen during that period, that I guess may be not handled properly by Firefox, making it leak some critical resources.

Sometimes (extremely rare) I experience similar video hangs just when switching between YouTube videos without any connectivity changes, but that may be some different issue.

Yeah, I’ve seen this happen a couple of times. Usually turning off and reconnecting Android Auto fixes the lag for me, and restarting the phone helps too.

Also noticed it runs smoother when I clear a bit of cache from the media apps before connecting. After that, playback was fine again.
