When trying to send from my @live.ca account I am getting an error message. Does not happen with @gmail
I have just started getting this error message when sending email from my @live.ca account. I do not get this message when sending from a @gmail or @company.ca address.
Quote: "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Non-Compliant sender address. Code : -1. Please check the message and try again."
I can send and receive email using this address from my Android phone or from my Windows eMail client, so why is Thunderbird causing this? I have looked through all the setting and cannot find anything different from the settings for the @gmail accounts.
Thanks. Dave

and is that @live.ca account actually using the correct live.com SMTP server? The error would indicate the email address does not match the user name used to sign into the SMTP (alias addresses do not work with SMTP for live/hotmail )
Thanks Matt; I am using the same SMTP server settings that I have been for many years. "mail.mtsbiz.net" I have no issues sending from my @company.ca or @gmail.com but earlier this year I started getting the error message for the @live.ca account. As I said, I can send from the live address using the Windows Mail or from my Android phone just not from Thunderbird...
