
Security making firefox unusable
Firefox is blocking access to many sites that I can login to with other browsers

Hi, are you getting an error page? For example:
"Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead"
or one of the other ones. If you could copy/paste what you see into a reply, that would be helpful.
If the problem is that login is failing, there could be a wide variety of reasons, but one possibility is Firefox's "Total Cookie Protection" feature. Some sites pass you back and forth between different servers during login because they have their services spread out over a number of different servers. In those cases, you might be able to submit a form successfully on one page and then the next page says you are not logged in. Frustrating!
First thing to try: disable Firefox's Tracking Protection feature on the site. To do that, click the shield icon at the left end of the address bar (next to the lock icon). On the panel that drops down, click the blue slider switch to turn off protection. Repeat on other pages of the site where you do not see a slash through the shield. Any improvement?
