Sent messages are sometimes not copied to the Sent folder
I use Thunderbird with a info@... account hosted by TransIP.
When I send an email, especially when I reply to a previous email and even more when this was my own email, the sent email is not always saved in the Sent folder: neither in the webmail of TransIP nor in Thunderbird. It seems random when emails are and are not saved in the Sent folder.
The replies are sent through; the recipient receives them.
What can I do?

Does Thunderbird report that it is not saved by showing an error message?
Hi David,
Thanks for responding! No, no error message is shown. The emails are being sent as normal. When I later open the Sent folder, it turns out that no copy was saved there (or well, sometimes there is, sometimes there is not).
Technical network issues are over my head. My suggestion to possibly resolve the issue is to change your setup to store sent messages in a local folder on PC.
Thanks for your suggestion! Would that mean that they won't be stored on the server, through IMAP?
That is correct. I have done that on occasion when my sent messages are not stored on server. Thunderbird sends the message to the recipient and then must send the message to your server. That sometimes fails in high network activity. I remain puzzled, though, that you receive no error message. Yes, the sent copies will be stored locally and not on the server. Not ideal, but it preserves the message.
