FIrefox rapidly opening and closing browser windows

Firefox browser opening and closing on it's own, rapidly opening multiple windows at once, over the top of all other open pages on my computer. I've restarted my computer, run a virus scan, cleaned my keyboard (no stuck keys), unplugged all extra things (web cam, mouse), nothing seems to work. I use Chrome and Firefox simultaneously for different things, and have never had an issue before.

The long read is Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware but I'd just say start into Troubleshoot Mode (via Help menu or holding "Shift" while launching the app) to see if anything changes there.

Then look into creating a new separate Profile for test, if using that one for a bit does the same.
