Can't connect to Outlook

Hello. I am trying to get Thunderbird Mobile to connect to my work e-mail. myname@ourdomain.com is hosted by Outlook. I have tried many times using the manual setup for the account. Every time I type in password at M/S I get

AUTHENTICATION ERROR. The server returned the following message:

AUTHENTICATION failed.

But when I check at mysignins.microsoft.com, it shows Successful Sign-in Thunderbird Android.

I have tried the Export to Mobile function from desktop, but the profile does not show as desktop's configuration only worked properly using the MICROSOFT E-MAIL EXCHANGE SERVER.

I went ahead and installed Outlook app on the phone so I could get my e-mail, but after only half a day, I hate Outlook. Please help me get T'bird working.

Thanks

Hi

1. Is your email using a business office365 / Microsoft Entra configuration? If you have a system administrator, they would be the best team to discuss this with.

In order for Thunderbird for Android to successfully sign-in using Imap + oAuth authentication, you need to register the app in Microsoft Entra and grant the users account permission to use Imap / smtp.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/client-developer/legacy-protocols/how-to-authenticate-an-imap-pop-smtp-application-by-using-oauth

Please advise if your use case is different.

Thank you for the fast response. I will check with them and update.
