Transferring profile from PC to Mac

Can I just confirm when moving from PC to Mac I copy the CONTENTS of the profile folder on my PC into the default profile folder created on the mac?

Should I delete the MAC profile contents first or are there files that need to stay along with the new ones from my PC?
