Upgraded to Firefox 4.0.1 and now it constantly freezes. I am running Max OS X10.6.7

I was prompted to upgrade Firefox yesterday to 4.0.1 and did so. Since then Firefox keeps freezing. I will be on a website or in a google search and it freezes and I am unable to quit firefox- can't even force quit so must reboot my computer. This has happened 6 times since yesterday.
