For example, at comcast.net I get the message:

"We have detected that the browser you are using is not fully supported by the Comcast.net web site. You can view this site using your current browser but it may not display properly, and you may not be able to fully use all features.

At kerpoof.com I get:

You must enable JavaScript and Flash to access Kerpoof's activities.

You are seeing this page because you either do not have Adobe's Flash Player installed, or you have scripting turned on in your browser preferences.

I have the latest Java and Flash Players installed with Firefox 3.6.9. In Tools Options, Java script is enabled. What setting needs changing for these sites to recognize my browser?

Chosen solution

You need to reset your user agent string (identifies the browser you are using). Your one is set to this:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.9) Gecko/20100824 NET_mmhpset ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729)

It is identifying itself as NET_mmhpset rather than Firefox. For details of how to reset it see websites or add-ons incorrectly report incompatible browser.
