after import, how to enter passwords
I use Thunderbird on my Linux Mint laptop. Imported accounts to Android 'phone. No passwords so no sync. How to fix?
Chosen Solution
Found it. Select Settings. Then select an account. Then select FETCHING MAIL. Then select Incoming server. Then select Next. Then it prompts for access (to Outlook, Gmail or whatever) & initiates the password/passkey & permission dialogue with that server. . Anyway, than you for responding. Not feeling alone aids persistence. David

Have you followed the guide to import?
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-android-import
Yes. It went off-track at 3. I did not see a security section asking if I want to export passwords. Export picked up all accounts (four: one outlook.com, three gmail.com). Each has only an Outbox. No syncing. It must be possible to add (or change) passwords at this point.
In your new device, could you get into the account setup page to manually input your emails' account password?
No. That is exactly what I am looking for. I am not a novice. If it were there, I would have found it. I have an appointment now. I will see & respond to your reply (if any) when I return tonight.

Great! Glad to hear you make it.
