After importing to T/b for Android, there is only one folder and there's a lot of blank screen

Jenfo

I'm using a Galaxy22 and have T/b for Android installed and ready to go. I've followed all the directions to import everything from my T/b on my desktop, which is the latest as I do automatic updates. But when I open T/b for Android, I see something called "unified inbox" with absolutely nothing in it, just a blank screen and a "compose message" icon on the bottom right. Where's my stuff? Please help! I can't handle Samsung email anymore, it won't send out any messages.

Hi @Jenfo

Did you manage to resolve your issue?

Unified inbox provides a combined view of emails from multiple accounts.

To select a specific email account ...

  1. Press the top left menu button to open the side bar.
  2. Press the down arrow (on the right of "Unified account")
  3. Select your account.

If emails are unavilable, check what protocol each account is using on Thunderbird desktop (imap or pop3)

Pop3. Only emails present on your providers server (such as newly arrived emails) will download to the mobile app. Other emails in Thunderbird desktop are stored locally on your desktop PC. Pop3 typically deletes them from the server once they've been downloaded.

Imap. Emails are stored on your email providers server and will automatically download to the mobile app.

I don't know how, but this morning upon opening Tb on my phone, all the emails showed up. I did notice that the folders do not match my desktop Tb. Is there a way to make sure all the folders on the desktop can be also found on the phone?

In maneuvering a couple days ago and trying to get this going, I created 3 email accounts. I can't figure out now how to get rid of those other (2) repetitive accounts. Should I ask a separate question or is that something you can answer in this thread?

Hi,

Yes, follow up questions related to your initial post should be made within the same thread (as you've done), which helps keep all the details together.

To remove a duplicate account, navigate to ... Settings > account name > three dot menu (top right) > remove account.

The mobile app synchronises only folders available on the server, via imap. Try logging into your webmail and check all folders there match your TB desktop.

You can also try refreshing the mobile apps folder list.

  • Open the side menu with your account folders visible
  • Tap manage folders (bottom of list)
  • Tap the three dot menu
  • Tap refresh folder list

I'm assuming both desktop and mobile apps are using an imap connection. Pop3 doesn't support folder synchronisation.
