Good day, The issues that I am encountering are explained below. The solution found after hours of research is uBlock Origin : https://ublockorigin.com/. Do you know which filters and rules should be applied to exclude the Wikimedia Foundation and all of its derivatives from the results provided by my search engine? Please share your knowledge. Sincerely. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I am utilizing Firefox ESR 128.10 desktop version on the Linux operating system. I wish to conduct research on the internet, utilizing the Startpage search engine. I would like to exclude the following sites from my search results: wikipedia.org, the Wikimedia Foundation, and any affiliated websites, regardless of the language or location settings configured.

What is the correct approach to establish a customized Startpage search profile excluding all Wikimedia Foundation sites? What is the proper setting to create a persistent and customized search engine configuration that excludes all Wikimedia Foundation domains even after an operating system update or reinstallation? Is it permitted to manually manage a customized search engine?

I have been advised to utilize an add-on or create a dedicated profile.

What would be the most suitable solution in my case, and the one that will be the most effective and stable ?

It is unfortunate that mozilla-firefox does not appear to offer a 'blacklist' or exclusion list feature, as that would be the most direct approach to excluding the Wikimedia Foundation websites from the search results.

I thank you kindly for all of your suggestions and responses to come. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Chosen solution

I would further note that I have indeed located on the list of addons https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire.../?q=blacklist by specifying the term "blacklist" as a filter, an addon which could resolve my issue. However, none of them appear to be recommended by Mozilla: 'This add-on is not actively monitored for security by Mozilla.' Is this a stable and viable solution, one that is recommended? Towards which option should I direct my choice?

Good day, I thank you for your assistance and response. I have configured and tested uBlock Origin. The number of instances of the site that I do not wish to see is impressive. Upon simple request or desire, I can transmit or write the following the simple rules to block this site (or one of your choosing). It is indeed unfortunate that the good sense of Mozilla Firefox has not been enlightened by the necessity to allow the user, regardless of the version and platform, to fill in a blacklist or/and a whitelist. If they have not included or integrated it by default, it is likely that there is a compromise that is in contradiction with the values they claim to uphold. Regarding the suggested links, I have read them all without exception. None of the proposed solutions are recommended by Mozilla and therefore offer no guarantee of security, stability, or reliability. uBlock Origin, yes : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/. I strongly suggest for any configuration - regardless of the addon - to call upon an AI and refine your request after each tested solution. I thank you for your assistance and for opening my mind to the "connect" site. Sincerely.
