Retrieving recent emails

I am only able to go back 3 days for my deleted emails, and there are 2 emails from July 5, 6 or 7 I cannot find. How do I find deleted emails and retrieve them? Can someone else remove emails from my inbox?

if you account is IMAP, the deleted mail will be synced with your providers web site. Do they retain deleted mail more than three days?
