unable to send e-mail on Thunderbird

Just back from vacation. since back Thunderbird wont allow me to send messages. SMPT error AU#out-1500. I use Spectrum (ROOAD-RUNNER) e-Mail have been using both RR and thunderbird for years. Spectrum refuses too help . Says its Mozilla problem. I am not computer proficient please take it easy and grandkids not around. thanks
