Unsent messages prompt, but Outbox is empty. IMAP

I saw someone else post about this problem but did not see any definitive resolution. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1376146

I just had the same thing happen. I started TB, entered my password, mail started downloading, then I get a prompt to re-enter my password to send unsent email. I didn't recall having left anything unsent so I checked the Outbox under the local folders, which was empty. I checked the Sent box as well to see if there was some kind of "pending" email listed there.

After I entered my password I re-checked the Sent box and a new Forwarded email had just been sent. Do pending emails not get put in the local Outbox when you are set up for IMAP? Is there some way to see that folder? I don't see another Outbox in the IMAP folders.

Lets see I am still waiting for that individual to report failure or success. My guess is they had success as they just disappeared.

My guess you simply need to repair your outbox as something has messed with it's indexing. Right click in the folder pane, select properties and then repair.
