How to edit & save a template without creating a new one?

Hi When I edit an existing template and save it (without changing the subject line), Thunderbird creates a new template. I can I save it as the same file?

If you right-click a template, there is an option to 'edit template'. Click that and change the template and click 'save as' back to template folder. Do not click 'edit as new'.
