Launching firefox to a barrage of rogue websites. Multiple virus/malware scans show nothing. Internet explorer and chrome show no such symptoms. See no way to trouble shoot such an issue with a browser.

I think you are talking about pop-ups.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page (There’s a lot of good stuff here)
and get a good add blocker.
