I use AOL mail and for the last several months I've had a recurring problem that when I let my FF browser sit open that when I go to compose an email my address book is unavailable. Even after I use Tools to clear recent cookies and cache it has no effect. Only when I use CCleaner to clean does it return to operating normally until next time. I contacted AOL and they said it had something to do with the browser. I've never had this problem with IE. Anybody have any ideas as to what's going on and how to fix it?

Hi arejfour,

I haven't heard this reported for Firefox 12, so I'm wondering if it is a localized issue. I'd try starting Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode and letting it run for a while to see if you can reproduce it. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the Extensions and Themes troubleshooting guide and the Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems article as well.

You could also try Creating a new profile.

Hopefully this helps!

Thanks for the reply. I did as you suggested and started FF is Safe Mode and the problem disappeared. I enabled the extensions one-by-one and none of them seemed to be the culprit and I use only the st'd theme. I'm stumped as to what effect starting in Safe Mode would have in clearing up the problem, at least, for the moment. FYI AVG was installed after the problem started. I've attached a screen shot which shows my extensions. I look forward to your reply. Thanks
