If you want the data from "desk top" to appear on your laptop you can use Firefox Sync

Firefox Sync lets you access your bookmarks, passwords, tabs, and more across all your devices. The easiest way to turn on Sync is to sign in to your Mozilla account from the Firefox toolbar or menu.

Once you sign in or create a new account, Sync is enabled automatically.
