Hi, thanks. I guess I need to sync, which I did, but I've found it impossile to sync with my phone - you wouldn't think it would be so hard. I need some Firefox app to take the photo of the barcode I guess.

Connecting an other device like a mobile phone merely involves to login that device to the same Firefox account. It is not necessary to use a QR code if Firefox is installed on that device, there is an alternative.

Yes, if you have no need for using Sync then you can delete the account, but keep in mind that the same account is used for other services like this forum, so you may want to keep it and only disconnect Sync on all devices. See also:
