upgrade from 3.6.28 to 12.0 all my sites asking for passwords!

I can see the passwords in 'saved passwords', but ... all my sites are asking for passwords again.

Only some of them get the user/pass dialog filled in, so ... it's a real pain trying to copy/paste my passwords.

Is this due to loosing cookies during the upgrade?

How can I prevent this from happening again.

You may have lost cookies or the cookies are no longer valid after updating Firefox.

You may need to delete cookies from sites if you still have a problem after logging in again.
