"Other bookmaks",
Please tell what creates the folder "Other Bookmarks", its function and the purpose that it is created. I do not put any there, yet there are dozens and I am ignorant of its proper use. I see sites that I might have visited, but still do not know how they got there. Thanks in advance for enlightenment of a user, especially the built in protections.
James

Hello
Bookmarks in Firefox https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/bookmarks-firefox
Other Bookmarks folder You will see an Other Bookmarks folder icon at the end of the Bookmarks toolbar if the Other Bookmarks folder in your Library contains any bookmarks. This makes it easier to find bookmarks stored in that folder. To remove the Other Bookmarks folder icon from the Bookmarks toolbar, see Remove the Other Bookmarks folder from the Bookmarks Toolbar.

Hi James, that folder was originally called "Unsorted Bookmarks" and was added at the same time as the "star" button in the address bar. This followed the theme of relying on search to find things instead of creating folder systems. At some point, "Unsorted Bookmarks" was renamed to "Other Bookmarks" - meaning it's not on the Bookmarks Menu or Bookmarks Toolbar.
If you have bookmarks in there, you can move them to another place. For moving the current page's bookmark, click the blue star and then use the "Location" chooser tools. For moving items in bulk, use the Library window. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+O (as in Organizer)
- menu button > Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks
You can drag-and-drop or cut-and-paste from Other Bookmarks to one of the other main categories in the left column.
