I've been Binged. Adds took over Firefox. Finally reinstalled but only works w/o adds in safe mode.
Down loaded a program and Bing took over as my search engine. Got rid of that but now adds and add videos pop-up all over the page. Pages become almost unreadable. I removed Firefox and reinstalled via internet explorer. Even with new installation it appears that I must run Firefox in "safe" mode to prevent these adds from appearing.

hi Len_S, this sounds like an issue with adware on your system, so please perform all these steps:
- reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
- afterwards go to the firefox menu ≡ > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
- also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there.
- finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to make sure that adware isn't present in other places of your system as well.
Also; Adblock Plus {web link} Blocks annoying video ads on YouTube, Facebook ads, banners and much more. Adblock Plus blocks all annoying ads, and supports websites by not blocking unobtrusive ads by default (configurable).
