i have the text feature blocked on my phone. as a result, i am unable to get the text # to download firefox. i do not want to remove the block on my phone. what do i do?

Ok, It appears that you tried to download from an illegitimate website. Thank you for providing that link, it will help ALOT.
If you want to get Firefox on your computer, simply go to www.getfirefox.com. There is no sign up or anything, simply select your language, and download and install Firefox!

What Phone do you have? Having texting blocking should not interfere with downloading Firefox. but, you can only download Firefox if it supports your phone. Read Will Firefox work on my mobile device? to see if your phone is on the supported list.
i am unable to get the text that fire fox sends to the phone. i need to enter that text message on the firefox website in order to start the process. thank you for your response
You don't use Text to download Firefox, you download it from Google Market (i'm assuming you are using an Android phone). https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mozilla.firefox. What website are you seeing that requires a number?
thank you for your response. when i tried to down load fire fox on my computer, it asked for my cell phon# which i provided. it then said that it woyld send a message to my phone via text. i need that code to enter into the firefox download process to continue the down load. i have the text function blocked because all i got was advertising and i don't have a need for it. it is their download process that requires my phone. no you don't need text to download firefox but you need the text message to contine the process. i do not have a smart phone because i do not need one.
I'm not sure where you are trying to download Firefox from, but it does not sound like a legitimate website. I would suggest making sure there aren't any unauthorized charges on your cell phone bill.
Also, if you don't have an android smartphone (one of the supported ones) you can't run Firefox on your phone. no other phones (except the Nokia n9 and n900) support firefox.
Sorry about that :/
Can you give me the website address you are trying to download Firefox from? we've had several reports of an illegitimate website that is asking users for their cell-phone number, but we haven't been able to track it down.
thank you for your continued efforts.
from the yahoo home page, i typed in firefox and hit search.
the top item was Download Forefox (Free) Download the newest version of Forefox - 100% free! FirefoxDownload.com
i clicked on this and got the download the newest version of firefox
http://firefox.com-share.net/download.php?t202id=8407&c1=firefox&c2=firefox&t202kw=firefox
i then clicked on the download firefox button and that is where they ask for my email and cell phone #
it says that a pin# will be sent to your cell phone to activate download.
since no pin# was sent to my phone, i assumed it was sent by way of text which i have blocked on my phone.
hope this helps
