Why can't I access my email page after the installation seemed complete?
I was asked to install Thunderbird 52.0, and clicked on install now. After an explanatory "lesson" in what new Thunderbird would do, and after clicking install, the program was supposed to restart, thereby making sure installation was completed. I waited several minutes for an indication that restart was taking place with no response, so I restarted myself. Then I could not click on the Thunderbird icon and get my email homepage to show up. Help!

Who asked you to install Thunderbird and why?
I ... clicked on install now.
How did you get Thunderbird in the first place? I doubt an 'Install now' button popped up out of the blue. Please explain in detail what you did - step by step - and what happened.

The program is not supposed to restart during the installation. It just get's installed, so there is no program start in the first place until the installation is finished.
I could not click on the Thunderbird icon
What prevented you from clicking the Thunderbird icon?
