hi,

I've gone through all the troubleshooting I can & have pinpointed the issue down to resetting of cache. Firefox is not properly loading realchat software or something is causing a problem.

Issue: This websites chat http://www.realchat.com/chat.php loads, but only once. Each time there after it will not load properly (blank page - reload or reload frame won't work), unless FF cache is cleared, each time. I've tried to search for cache location to troubleshoot the issue further but everything I've come across only provides details on how to re-locate it.

My specs; Win7 64 bit (on new OS install). Firefox 28. Flash 13.0.0.182. Java: v7, u55. FF/cache size: 350MB - more than enough. All/most settings are at defaults.

I've gone through all other plugins, add-ons, even tried safe mode etc etc. Only clearing cache or resetting FF works. But I have to do it everytime after loading the above chat. EDIT: I've also reinstalled FF, this doesn't fix problem.

Reload the webpage while bypassing the cache using one of the following steps:

  • Hold down the Shift key and click the Reload button with a left click.

OR

  • Press Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows and Linux)
  • Press Command + Shift + R (Mac)

Let us know if this solves the issues you are having.

Yes holding shift whilst reload works. But that doesn't solve the root of the issue. I still have to do this each time, which constitutes a bug/flaw of some sort.

End-users shouldn't have to go through so much trouble or having to do this all the time to get something like this to work. And I consider myself tech-savy.

Tropod:

Is it safe to assume that this has been solved by RealChat themselves?

more options

No, very unlikely. I actually contacted them prior to posting the issue here and am still yet to hear back from them, at all.
